The Queensland Self Defence and Taekwon-Do Academy hosted an International Instructor Course in Mackay, Queensland, on 12-14 November 2010. The course was open to all 3rd Dan and above ITF Black Belt holders and was attended by International Instructors from across Queensland including two International Instructors from Thailand.
The course was run by Senior Master Robert Lai, President of the All Australia International Taekwon-Do Federation. Prior to the commencement of the course, Senior Master Lai generously ran a coloured belt class in Mackay prior to the International Instructor Course. This was a great opportunity for the Taekwon-Do students of Mackay to receive tuition from Senior Master Lai, who has over 40 years of Taekwon-Do experience to share.
The International Instructor Course in Mackay represented an opportunity to promote Taekwon-Do in Central Queensland, where Sabum Jeff Dieben has recently established another Queensland Self Defence and Taekwon-Do Academy centre.
At the conclusion of the course, a formal dinner was held with Senior Master Lai as the guest of honour.
The Instructors of the Queensland Self Defence and Taekwon-Do Academy would like to thank Senior Master Lai for generously sharing his Taekwon-Do knowledge. The Instructors will return to their regular classes and pass onto their students the valuable information learned at the course.
